  2. Producer: Mark Requests as "Beats Sent"

  3. Mandatory genre checkbox

There should be a drop down menu for which genre of beats the artists are looking for, whether it be death metal or trap beats.

It's difficult when some artists ask for beats, and there could be around 25 beat requests, and out of those 25, only 6 of those artists will feature the type of beats that the they are searching for.

The problem arises when only TWO of those 6 beat requests clearly state which genres they're looking for specifically, and the other FOUR will say something along the lines of:
"Rick Ross type beats, Pitbull type beats,…

    Thanks for the suggestion Desert!

I get what you’re saying and understand where you’re coming from.

We’re going to be doing away with the current system and switch to a tagging system as suggested by Desoulbel – https://sendbeatsto.uservoice.com/admin/forums/224099-feedback/suggestions/4531886-adding-request-requirements – or something similar, which will also make it easier to find requests looking for specific genres.

For now: In the daily email we’ll move the ones that specify a genre to the top and the ones that don’t to the bottom.

    Cheers,
    Iain

  4. Paying for beats or not?

There should be some type of mandatory checkbox that say's something along the lines of "Are you willing to pay for beats or not?".

It would save both parties a lot of time if they both know what they want out of the deal. Whether it be a serious artist shopping for beats to use on a official release or somebody doing A&R work for an artist or label that isn't going to pay out of their pocket.

Say if a producer is only interested in selling beats for profit then they don't have to worry about sending beats to…

Another great suggestion – thank you!

I can imagine how frustrating it is sending beats and then the artist wanting them for free.

When we list requests we tend to skip over artists that say they’re looking for free beats but a lot don’t bother saying which leads to this situation.

What I always recommend is sending snippets or tagged beats, if the request says no snippets / no tags then just skip over it.

Something like this will be added as we looking to change up the way artists make requests and how they are shown.

    Cheers,
    Iain

  5. Real Name & Stage Name

    from Desoulbel:
"Maybe adding the option to display both a real name & stage or
publishing/label name? It may make a bit more sense for companies or
artists who work under real names as well. Like 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) or LA Reid (Atlantic Records, LLC). "

  6. Music Credentials

    from Desoulbel:
"For artists pages, maybe adding a music credentials list. This way it
gives a producer a way of seeing what an artist's qualifications are if
they aren't already familiar with them."

    from @DopeBeatsSK:
"oh yeah that's dope , like a WITH PAST PRODUCTION FROM section to bait them to let us know if they actually work with ppl, not sure how it can be implemented , maybe on the page where they set up the track request or if they create a profile"

  7. Producers: Email Notifications & Recap

"Email notifications of when tracks has been downloaded (maybe a daily recap for frequent downloads to reduce alert frequency) and a weekly recap of activity (submissions sent, email opens, downloads, etc...)" via Stone Tone

  8. Badges Explanation

    from Desoulbel:
"I see the badge for "Self Managed SendBeatsTo Account". Maybe a link
to what the means? Is that similar to being verified? If not I think some
type of verified is necessary for the site in case someone troll attempts
to poach beats under a famous artists name. "

This will be added to the site but here’s a brief explanation at the moment:

    There are 3 Badges.
    “Verified Twitter Account”
    - Means they have a verified Twitter account. This is an important indicator because it usually means the artists is famous, therefore, more exposure for the producer should their beat be picked.

    “Self Managed SendBeatsTo Account”
    - Because beat requests are found on social networks and manually added, I feel it is important to show when the Artist / Label manages their own account. Their is a verification process to go through to get this badge.

    “Verified Self Managed SendBeatsTo Account”
    - This means they have a verified Twitter account (or are famous) and have went through the SendBeatsTo verification process.

  10. Mobile friendly

Should be easier to send beats off of mobile device. Mobile app perhaps?

  11. Add DURATION to beat lease contracts

The beat lease contracts are super awesome, and I love your site for implementing something like that to make sure we have our shit in order. However, I think adding the duration the beat is being leased for to the contract would be a really great and intuitive feature -- I want it to be in writing just how long the beat is theirs for, otherwise when does it end? Song sales are a good metric to have, but I need something more concrete to know when I can start shopping the beat around to others.

  17. Sorting folders

A way to upload different beats to different folders to send to rappers.

Eg: "Hip hop beats folder", "Pop beats folder" etc...

and make it where the user can custom name the folders.

this will make it easier and faster for us producers to send different types of beats to artists without having to spend 5 minutes scrolling though beats & pages to find certain beats, and having to remember what those beats sound like, since they're already sorted in it's genre specific folder.

Also have it where we can add a beat to multiple folders.

    This way instead of…

  19. Producers: Public Profile

Similar to artists having a profile, would it be beneficial for producers to have one too?

    Hey,

What protection would you like? The best guarantee of protection is to copyright your beats before sending them to anyone.

To save yourself some money wait until you have a collection of beats to copyright and then do them all at once.

    Best wishes,
    Iain
